In this semester, the students will be divided into groups and do two kinds of presentations: film presentation and news presentation. In the film presentation, each group will have to prepare a handout, which should include a vocabulary list, blank-filling questions, a voice-acting script, and some questions for discussion. In the news presentation, each group will have to select three video clips from BBC or CNN News. Besides preparing a handout with a vocabulary list, blank-filling questions, short answer questions, and questions for discussion, each group will also have to present a play of 15 minutes that incorporate the three pieces of news. Those students who are not doing presentations will have to participate in the presentations by doing questions, voice-acting, and discussion. The mid-term exam will be on the vocabulary introduced in the film presentations; the final exam will be on five of fifteen video clips, which will be assigned at the rate of one piece per week during the course of the semester.
